Born in Seville (1984) Marco develops interest in design and creativity from young, and especially since studying industrial design and architecture at the Instituto Europeo di Design in Madrid, where he graduated in July 2011. Since then, he collaborates with several studios to expand his professional view.

 

In 2013 he constitutes his own studio in Mexico City and Madrid, developing a consistent body of work characterized by the combination of traditional and experimental materials, exploring tradition and culture themes, working on new approaches to everyday life and the importance of objects as cultural conduits.

 

Perceiving his role as a bridge between craft, industry and user, the studio develops projects that link research, design industry, the business community and society.

 

Complementing the activity of the studio, Marco Villa Mateos lectures and workshops in various educational institutions.
